The Setting

Approaching Amer, the castle appears on the hill like a guardian of the valley. Its presence alone invites curiosity. A short drive up a well maintained dirt road and you feel the shift from the present into another era entirely. The air is quieter. The landscape opens. The stone walls rise out of the terraces as if grown from the mountain itself.

The views reach in every direction. The Guilleries. The Amer Valley. The wide plain of La Selva. Facing southeast, the castle receives sunlight almost all day.

A private world with a deep sense of time.

The Tour

The entrance road curves past the gate and arrives at the old threshing floor, a wide stone terrace in front of the castle. From here, several entrances lead inside: a stone arched portal that opens to an inner courtyard, a ramp reminiscent of a drawbridge, and traditional wooden doors on the south and east facades.

Main Residence

Ground Floor
A large open space perfect for gatherings, celebrations, or creating a grand communal room. The scale feels historic, but the energy is warm.

First Floor
A kitchen, a living room, a dining room with a fireplace, and a wide terrace overlooking the Amer Valley. The ceilings are high, the windows are generous, and the stone detailing is magnificent.
This is also where you access the tower.

Second Floor
A suite, three additional double bedrooms, and one bathroom. The proportions feel noble, calm, and full of old-world charm.

Secondary Residence and Barn

Attached to the south side, with its own entrance, is a two story home with a kitchen and fireplace, dining room, living room, two double bedrooms, a loft, a bathroom, and a study.

The barn beside it has a ground floor with a wooden loft, offering additional space for storage, workshops, or creative studios.

The Area

Amer is one of the most historic villages in La Selva, known for Romanesque architecture, volcanic landscapes, monastery ruins, and forested mountain ranges. The area is peaceful and deeply tied to Catalan heritage, yet it offers easy access to Girona, the Costa Brava, and major routes to Barcelona.

This castle sits between nature and culture.
Wild and connected. Ancient and livable.
